Glaciers Ice Youth Entrepreneurship Program

The Noble Truth Project’s Glaciers Ice Youth Entrepreneurship Program empowers young people ages 14–19 who are growing up in underserved communities and are at increased risk of involvement with the criminal justice system. Many of the young people we serve face barriers to positive employment, mentorship, economic opportunity, and exposure to environments that encourage healthy decision-making and long-term success.

Our program provides an alternative pathway centered on entrepreneurship, employment, mentorship, education, personal development, and economic independence. We believe young people who are given meaningful opportunities, trusted with responsibility, and exposed to positive role models can develop the confidence and vision necessary to make different choices for their futures.

Through structured programming, mentorship, hands-on business experience, and paid work opportunities, participants learn how to think like entrepreneurs while developing the character, confidence, communication skills, and financial knowledge necessary to become independent and socially conscious leaders.

Our unique Points-to-Programming and Points-to-Opportunity model connects personal development directly to opportunity. Students earn points by participating in educational, counseling, leadership, and professional-development activities. They can then use those points to access paid work shifts as well as merchandise, Glaciers Ice, meals, transportation, field trips, and other experiences. The model teaches that showing up, learning, preparing, and taking responsibility can create tangible opportunities.

Each week provides a different avenue for growth:

Mondays – Group Counseling: Students participate in group counseling facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), providing a supportive environment to address challenges, develop emotional awareness, and strengthen healthy coping and communication skills.

Tuesdays – Business Breakdown: Students review real financial statements and learn about revenue, expenses, profit and loss, payroll, budgeting, and financial decision-making.

Wednesdays – Chess & Strategic Planning: Chess is used to develop strategic planning, critical thinking, patience, and decision-making—skills that apply directly to entrepreneurship and life.

Thursdays – Study Hall: Morehouse Bonner Scholars lead study hall, providing academic support, tutoring, and mentorship.

Fridays – Freestyle Fridays: Students explore creativity through entrepreneur and business films, podcast production, storytelling, and other media activities.

Saturdays – Guest Speakers & Communication: Entrepreneurs and professionals engage with students while communication classes teach them how to communicate effectively, present themselves professionally, build relationships, and attract customers.

The paid work component gives students hands-on experience in sales, customer service, inventory, manufacturing, logistics, billing, teamwork, time management, and responsibility. But the value of a work shift extends beyond a paycheck. Students have opportunities to earn tips, build professional networks, and gain exposure to people, places, and experiences they may not otherwise encounter.

Our vision extends beyond Atlanta. We envision Glaciers Ice becoming a scalable youth entrepreneurship model that can be replicated in other communities facing similar challenges. By combining entrepreneurship, mentorship, education, employment, and positive exposure, we aim to establish Glaciers Ice programs in additional cities and create a network of young entrepreneurs who are equipped to build businesses, achieve financial independence, and strengthen their communities.

Ultimately, Glaciers Ice is designed to provide young people with a positive alternative to environments and circumstances that can lead toward incarceration. We are developing entrepreneurs, financially independent leaders, and socially conscious citizens who can create better opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities.
